BIOGRAPHY

The road map on space of Dr. Özalp has started in 1995. He has conducted PhD studies as the first Turkish fellow on Earth Observation at ESRIN/ESA, Italy. He has served as an advisor to the president of TUBİTAK for the development of Space Activities of Turkey and ESA relations. Since more than 25 years, Dr. ÖZALP has been involved and taken very pro-active roles in the development of space related projects, plans, programs and policies in Turkey and abroad. He was as the national delegate of Turkey for ESA, GEO, IAF, ROSCOSMOS, UNOOSA, EURISY international organizations. He has acted as an initiator and a catalyzer for cooperation between Turkey and International space organizations. And as an entrepreneur, he has played an innovative role in mobilizing the Turkish governments, the public organizations, the universities, the industrial sectors and the youth’s interest (e.g. SpaceTurk Research Group). He is an instructor and research adviser on Earth Observation Imaging Systems at METU. The most important concrete achievements of Dr. Tamer ÖZALP are the first “National Space Research Programme of Turkey” and GÖKTÜRK-2 Earth Observation Satellite Project.

Musicologist / Music Medicine Researcher / Clinical Musicology Researcher 

I am the Co-Founder and General Manager of ResearchTurk, an interdisciplinary organization dedicated to providing innovative solutions through the integration of science, creativity, and technology. We specialize in the development and implementation of space-based systems, data tools, and decision-making models designed to assist organizations in enhancing their operations and adapting to complex environments.Our services cater to both space-integrated enterprises and traditional businesses, offering strategic tools and customized models that support improved problem-solving and decision-making. We also provide Earth Observation solutions that utilize satellite-based data to serve sectors such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster response​

BIOGRAPHY

F. Nil Özalp is a scientist specializing in

exploring the effects of music on human health (physiological, cognitive, emotional, etc.) and conducting interdisciplinary research in this field

She completed her undergraduate education in the Music Education Department at Uludağ University, followed by a master’s degree in Music Sciences at Dokuz Eylül University Graduate School of Fine Arts. Since 2013, she has focused her work on "Music Medicine." She has been investigating the effects of music on human health (physiological, cognitive, emotional, etc.) and conducting interdisciplinary studies in this area for 15 years.

Alongside my corporate leadership, I am a musicologist and researcher focusing on the physiological, cognitive, emotional, and auditory dimensions of music in human health and well-being. Since 2013, I have been conducting evidence-based research on music-based interventions, particularly in relation to symptom management and patient experience in clinical settings. I have also contributed to national and international congresses and interdisciplinary symposiums through presentations and collaborative activities related to music, health, and human-centered auditory experience.

 I am a member of the International Association for Music and Medicine (IAMM) and the European Music Therapy Confederation (EMTC), and continue to contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations related to music, health, and human-centered care.

My academic and professional background combines musicology, interdisciplinary health research, and applied scientific collaboration, reflecting an ongoing commitment to connecting science, technology, creativity, and human experience through interdisciplinary perspectives.

Additionally, she has completed short-term trainings with Dr. Annie Heiderscheit on "Music Therapy: Methods and Approaches in Clinical Practice," with Prof. Dr. Melissa Mercadal-Brotons on "Music Therapy in Geriatrics, Dementia, and Alzheimer," and with Dr. Rahmi Oruç Güvenç on "Traditional Turkish Music and Movement Therapy."She is a member of the International Association for Music and Medicine (IAMM) and the European Music Therapy Confederation (EMTC). As a scientist, she continues her evidence-based research to deeply understand the potential impacts of music on health, enriched by her experiences and collaborations.
